Blog in a shoebox.

I found this blog in a shoe box in my basement yesterday and decided it was a sign telling me to put it to good use. After shaking the dust off of it and seeing if it still works I plan to put it into action. I certainly must have thought that I didn't need two blogs since one is much more than I seem to give proper blog attention. However this might provide an alternative online market for artwork of mine that have nowhere else to shine. The idea has merit for good reason.
There are many pieces of art that exist in an artist's studio that have no intended destination. Some go to galleries. Others are commissioned. But what about the studies, sketches and explorations? When I visit an art studio or gallery those are the pieces of art that capture my imagination. They are often more moving than the ambitious albeit beautiful paintings that result from all those hours of gestation. The spontaneity of a sketch or a color study carries an inner life that is vibrant. Even a small scribble or shmoosh of paint has power.
So with that in mind I hope to share what I believe to be a worthy contribution to the world of creative authenticity.
